WATER RESOURCES, RIVER DEVELOPMENT AND GANAGA REJUVENATION be pleased to state:-




(a) the current status of the implementation of Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP);

(b) the funds provided under the scheme during the last three years vis-à-vis their actual utilisation; and

(c) the benefits accrued as a result of imple- mentation of the scheme?

THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR WATER RESOURCES, RIVER DEVELOPMENT AND GANGA REJUVENATION (PROF.SANWAR LAL JAT)

(a)to(c) Since the inception of the Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP), 297 Major and Medium Irritation (MMI) Projects and 16769 Minor Irrigation (MI) Projects have been benefi- tted under this programme. Out of these, 143 MMI Projects & 12495 MI Project have been completed. A Central Assistance (CA) of Rs. 67476.93 crore has been released to various States and a total irrigation potential of 9477.55 Th. Ha. has been created up to March 2014 under the AIBP scheme.

The funds provide under the Scheme of AIBP to on-going MMI projects during the last years vis-à-vis their actual expenditure is given below:
